Your Starting Point
Volume 1 is designed to make Qur’anic Arabic feel less distant by beginning with familiar words, recurring structures and practical examples from the Qur’an.
The complete HEC Understanding of Quran I course uses Muallim ul Quran Volumes 1–3. Volume 1 is the first part of that sequence and builds the foundation students need before moving into the later material.
Rather than treating Arabic as a separate theoretical subject, the learner repeatedly meets Qur’anic words and structures in context, allowing recognition to grow through use.
Course I Pathway
Volume 1 begins the journey. The full Fehm-e-Quran I course continues across Volumes 2 and 3.
Inside Volume 1
Units 1–3 establish the essential building blocks students will keep recognizing throughout the Qur’an.

Begin with common Qur’anic vocabulary and basic distinctions such as proper/common nouns, masculine/feminine forms and recurring word patterns.

Learn how frequently occurring particles and prepositions change and connect meanings inside Qur’anic phrases and sentences.

Move into adjective and possessive constructions so separate words begin connecting into meaningful Qur’anic expressions.
Important: Volume 1 is the foundation portion of Fehm-e-Quran I — not the entire HEC course by itself. The HEC model outline continues through later units using Volumes 2 and 3 as part of Course I.
The Muallim ul Quran Method
The method keeps the student close to the Qur’an, using recurring patterns and real Qur’anic examples to make linguistic concepts easier to recognize and apply.
Volume 1 does not ask the learner to begin by memorizing long technical definitions. Instead, it introduces concepts through patterns already present in the Qur’an.
As the same structures appear again, the student begins recognizing them naturally and understanding how words relate to one another.
